Baron Solaris for eighty years; retired Commodore of the Lyonesse Flotilla, South Fleet, Amber Navy; widowered twenty years ago at the death of his wife, Anthea Bayle (b.160 BC; d.15 BC), roughly the same time he dropped out of the public eye; was named as Chief Envoy to the Crown under Corwin and Random, but did not serve very long before he had to retire back to the country.

The family has generally given out Godfrey as 'unwell,' or perhaps 'un-sound,' but it is generally whispered by those very much in the know within the family that he has gone completely mad, and the madness may be affecting his physical health. The rest is Not Talked About except by those who must talk about it.

Somewhere, a sculpture has been made, giving life and flesh through marble to a glorious god of the sun. Long, elegantly formed limbs; a powerful torso; a perfect blade of nose; regal, high cheek bones; spun gold hair, perfectly waved.

But Godfrey is no god, only a man. It shows in the cracks at the corners of his eyes — jade, shadowed by an undefinable darkness — and the perpetual fatigue beneath them.

He dresses the part of militant gentry, in House white and gold, with a golden sunburst over his left breast and golden epaulets at both shoulders. His leggings show vertical golden piping, low heel boots of white calfskin.

He wears an ivory-handled blade, with a bell-shaped guard, a bit heavy for a rapier, and a twin dagger, a bit on the long side.
